Accessibility statement for Tacklit
This accessibility statement applies to the Tacklit care delivery platform: the web application at uk.tacklit.com, au.tacklit.com and nz.tacklit.com, the client portal and booking pages that practices publish to their clients, and the Tacklit iOS and Android apps.
This platform is run by Tacklit UK Ltd and Tacklit Group Pty Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. For example, that means you should be able to:
change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
navigate most of the platform using just a keyboard
navigate most of the platform using speech recognition software
listen to most of the platform using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We have also made the text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability: mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk.
Practices can also enable the UserWay accessibility widget on the client portal, booking pages and forms their clients use. Where enabled, it adds on-screen controls for contrast, text size, font, spacing, cursor size, pausing animation, a screen-reader mode and other adjustments. It is an additional aid and does not replace the underlying accessibility work described below.
How accessible this platform is
We know some parts of this platform are not fully accessible:
some form fields and controls in the clinical record, calendar and notes screens do not have labels that screen readers can announce
some interactive elements, such as the appointment calendar and rich text editors, are difficult or impossible to operate with a keyboard alone
focus is not always visible when moving through the page with a keyboard
some colour combinations in status tags and charts do not meet the minimum contrast ratio
some error messages are not announced to screen reader users when a form is submitted
documents generated by the platform (PDF reports, letters and exports) are not tagged for screen readers
some page titles and headings do not describe the content of the page

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the accessibility regulations). Technical information about this platform's accessibility
Tacklit is committed to making its platform accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 as they apply to our public sector customers.
Compliance status
This platform is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations:
Some form fields and controls do not have accessible names. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value) and 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).
Some interactive components cannot be operated by keyboard. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.1 (Keyboard).
Keyboard focus is not always visible. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.7 (Focus Visible) and 2.4.11 (Focus Not Obscured, Minimum).
Some text and user interface components do not meet minimum contrast. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast, Minimum) and 1.4.11 (Non-text Contrast).
Some form errors are not identified in text or announced to assistive technology. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.1 (Error Identification).
Some pages do not have descriptive titles. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.2 (Page Titled).
Generated PDF documents are not tagged. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships) and 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value).
We are commissioning an independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit of the platform and will fix the issues found, prioritising the clinical record, calendar, notes and client-facing screens. We plan to complete the audit and remediation of all AA-level issues by 31 March 2027. This statement will be updated with the audit results.
Disproportionate burden: we have not claimed disproportionate burden for any content.
Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations: PDF reports, letters and exports generated before 23 September 2018 are exempt. Content uploaded to the platform by practices and their clients (for example scanned documents and attachments) is not under our control and is exempt.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
Accessibility is being built into our design system and release process: new components are checked against WCAG 2.2 AA before release, automated accessibility checks run in our build pipeline, and the independent audit described above will set the remediation plan for existing screens. We test with clinicians and clients, including people who use assistive technology, as part of product design. The optional UserWay widget on client-facing pages gives clients adjustments they can make for themselves today, while the underlying screens are brought to WCAG 2.2 AA.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 30 September 2026. It was last reviewed on 30 September 2026.
This platform was last tested in September 2026 by Tacklit's product team using a manual self-assessment against WCAG 2.2 AA on the clinical record, calendar, notes, forms and client portal screens, with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS). An independent audit is scheduled as described above.
